RHI Accreditation

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is the world’s first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat.

The RHI pays participants of the scheme that generate and use renewable energy to heat their buildings or eligible processes.

Equis Energy is active in the Non-Domestic sector of the RHI – launched in November 2011 – which provides payments to industry, businesses and public sector organisations. We specialise in ensuring that biomass boiler or CHP installations (especially Anaerobic Digestion or gasification plants converting to CHP) meet the requirements of the RHI legislation in terms of eligible heat generation, heat use and metering strategy. Many project developers underestimate the specialist input needed to successfully design a heating system that complies with Ofgem's requirements. Equis Energy's expertise ensures the engineering design is RHI compliant, maximising RHI income, with minimum delay in attaining accreditation.

Many of Equis Energy’s clients have benefited by using our consultancy services to assess their RHI project and manage all areas of the application through to accreditation.
