Equis Energy managed the full application process and the FMS to Ofgem for AMP's biomass plant near Penrith. The plant, fuelled by wood chips from forestry activity will generate renewable electricity and heat via CHP sets supplied by Guascor. At the heart of the process is Renewable Energy Technology's (RET) "NovaGen" gasification technology which converts the solid wood fuel into a clean syngas. Ofgem have formally confirmed the plant as an accredited generating station since the 2 May 2014, meaning it will benefit from 2 ROC's per MWh of eligible output as an Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) for 20 years.
