Equis Energy managed the full application process and the FMS to Ofgem for Ecocycle's biomass plant in Usk, South Wales. The plant, fuelled by virgin wood co-product from forestry activity will generate renewable electricity and heat via CHP sets supplied by Guascor and Dordtech Engineering B.V.. At the heart of the process is Torftech's "TORBED" gasification technology which converts the solid wood fuel into a clean syngas. Ofgem have formally confirmed the plant as an accredited generating station since the 24 June 2014, meaning it will benefit from 2 ROC's per MWh of eligible output as an Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) for 20 years.
